CLTC Procedure in the event of an accident or emergency

  • The entrance to Chorleywood House Grounds which is beside the Parish Council Offices at the entrance to Lady Ela Drive has a height restriction barrier above the gate, which is locked closed and secured with a padlock.
  • This makes access impossible for Ambulances, Fire Engines and other high vehicles without unlocking the padlock and opening this high gate.
  • In theory any emergency vehicle should have the means to open this barrier, but in practice this may not always happen.
  • To mitigate against this we have our own key to this padlock which is kept in the key safe on the outside wall of the clubhouse to the left of the glass fronted notice board.
  • The number to this safe is the same number as the gate to the club and the front door of the clubhouse.
    1. In the event of an accident or incident within the clubhouse or grounds the casualty must be assessed for the severity of the incident and a decision made as to whether it is necessary to call 999. State the nature of the injury and give them the address of the club:
      Walled Garden
      Lady Ela Drive
Chorleywood WD3 5SLAlso inform them that there is a height restriction barrier at the entrance to Chorleywood House Grounds and that we have a key. If the casualty has had a suspected cardiac arrest, then inform the emergency services that there is a defibrillator available which will be used on the casualty.(See separate sheet regarding CPR and use of the Defibrillator)If the casualty requires immediate First Aid for an injury, then open the First Aid bag which is hanging on the outside wall alongside the green framed display cabinet and act accordingly.
    2. If there is more than one person with the casualty, one person must stay with them, and the second person should get the key from the key safe and take it as quickly as possible to the entrance by the Parish Council Offices. They must then unlock the padlock  (which is located on the inside of the gate on the same side as the offices) and open the barrier if the emergency services have not already done so. They should then return to the club with the key and once the emergency services have left the club they should return to the gate, shut it, lock the padlock and bring the key back and replace it in the key safe. However, if there is only one other person and the casualty, then they must stay with the casualty until the emergency services arrive.
    3. Whoever witnessed the incident must fill in an accident form which can be found in the rack on the wall outside the hatch to the kitchen.
    4. The Welfare Officer must be informed of the incident.
