Cure Parkinson’s 7s – Monday 26th August 2024

Once again the weather was extremely kind to us and the best part of two hours was spent warming up and playing a delightful 7s tournament in the sunshine.  As usual the explanation of the format of the tournament totally baffled those new to it (and possibly some of those who had played before!) nevertheless 28 intrepid ball-bashers did their thing in the sunshine.  For the first time, the introduction of score cards for each of the 42 x 15-minute matches helped to ease the recording of scores which was a welcome improvement.

A special thanks to Dave Rapp who had the unfortunate pleasure of being drawn out of the hat to compete as a ‘lady’; many thanks Dave and well done on your ‘win’!

A glorious selection of sandwiches was prepared by those in the clubhouse by rotation and the scones, jam & cream plus cake were a welcome carb-loading after our exertions.

I am delighted to confirm that a grand total of £1,015 (plus Gift Aid) was raised on the day.  Many, many, thanks to the fabulous, generous members of Chorleywood Lawn Tennis Club as always.

Kind regards, Chris
