Hi everyone – a date for your diary: Saturday 4th July; a real DOUBLE HEADER!
Firstly, afternoon Tea & Cake will be back on around 4pm, strictly following the guidelines below:
- Players must bring their own cup and plate and any cutlery such as teaspoons that are required; no plates, cups or cutlery from the kitchen will be used.
- Please remember to take your things home with you after tea.
- In a socially distanced queue, players come up to the kitchen window and the tea person pours their tea and adds milk as per request. They also carefully put a slice of cake on to their plate using tongs.
- If people prefer coffee, then that can also be made on an individual basis.
This restart of our Tea & Cake will be free to all members.
Secondly, following on from the restart of afternoon Tea & Cake, from around 5pm the Club will hold a special ‘Welcome Back’ tennis & social event to reconnect with everyone.
Come and play tennis and socially distance outside the clubhouse around the tables & benches.
The bar will be open, you will be served from the clubhouse front door.
As a special ‘thank you’ for your support, the bar will not just be hosting a happy hour, it will be VERY happy for as long as you want: a completely FREE bar!
All we ask is that you must bring your own glass; no glasses from the bar will be used.
Please also bring your own crisps / nibbles etc.
We will supply the drink in unopened cans or bottles, including our new range of ¼ bottles of white, red & rose wine, tasting is highly recommended!
Finally: We are all very aware that Covid-19 is still with us.
We believe that the measures we are taking in enabling both the ‘Tea & Cake’ plus the ‘Welcome Back’ event are appropriate, provided members continue to be sensible and adhere to the social distancing rules since the club reopened. However, clearly there are still risks and everyone must make their own decision.
Having said that, we look forward to welcoming you all: Full, Weekday and particularly new members, to the Club on Saturday 4th July 2020.
Kind regards,
Chris
